Why Rabbits are Perfect Pets: By Brooke

Rabbits are cuddly and furry mammals. Rabbits eat a lot of vegetables like carrots, lettuce and a lot more. Lagomorphs are a group of cottontails or rabbits. A wild rabbit called a pika. Pikas live in Europe, Asia, and the western North America. These are the rabbits around the world:swamp rabbit desert cottontail arctic hare and brush rabbit. A rodent has only one pari of upper incisors. Other rabbits, cottontails are herbiavores. Baby rabbits grow inside their mother. When they come out of their mother they are very small. They were born without fur and also they’re born with their eyes shut. 20 days later they start to grow fur and their eyes start to open. They drink their mothers milk until they are 10 weeks old. Baby rabbits are called kits and it is fun to watch a rabbit grow. When they are first born their skin is pink or black. They have up to 4 or 5 babies. Sometimes when they get scared of a spider or something that crawls they walk on their belly. When they are 4 weeks old their ears get stronger. When they are tired they snuggle close together. When rabbits are six weeks old they could explore on their own. When rabbits find a place to dig a nice soft hole to hibernate they find twigs, straw and a lot more. Sometimes when rabbits see danger like hunters, fox and wolves they thump their powerful foot to warn other rabbits. They can eat up to three heads of cabbage a day.
